5. Safety Instructions

In the case of damages which are caused due to failure to observe these operating instructions,
the guarantee will expire. Liability for any and all consequential damage is excluded!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury, caused by improper use
or failure to observe the safety instructions. Any claim to warranty will lapse in such cases!
Dear customer, The following safety instructions and risk information do not only serve for protection of the
device but also for protection of your health. Please read carefully through the following points:
General Information
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible because of safety
and approval reasons (CE). Furthermore, the guaranty/warranty would also expire in such a case.
• Only persons familiar with this operating manual might use the product.
The product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children! Children cannot judge the
dangers involved when handling electrical devices.
• The product corresponds to protection class IPX4 (splash protected).
• The device is designed according to protection class I. Only a standard power socket (230V~/50Hz),
with protective earthing, connected to the public mains system may be used as a power source. For
use in external areas, a mains power plug in accordance with IP44 is required.
Installation Location, Assembly
• Assemble and operate the product in a way that keeps it out of reach of children.
• The product corresponds to protection class IPX4 (splash protected). Thus, the product may not be
mounted, positioned or operated under water! Mount the product so that it is protected from flooding
(e.g. through the irrigation of your garden).
Never direct a jet of water (e.g. garden hose) at the garden pump or the mains plug!
There is a danger of death due to electric shock!
• The use of the product in the proximity of ponds, wells, swimming pools, springs etc. is authorized
only if the product is operated via a ground fault circuit interrupter (circuit breaker FI, <=30mA).
In Austria, it is authorized to install and operate the product in the proximity of swimming pools and
ponds only if in addition to the ground fault circuit interrupter (circuit breaker FI, <=30mA) a safety
isolating transformer controlled by the Austrian Electro-technical Association is connected in line
side.
In case of doubt, the product must be installed by a specialized electrician only!
• In the place of installation the ambient temperature must not be around or under the freezing point
(<0°C). This causes the water to freeze in the garden pump; the higher volume of ice destroys the
pump. Store the product out of freezing conditions in winter, fully empty the garden pump before
storage (there is a drainage fitting on the garden pump).
