7. Installation, Assembly, Connection

Take note of the safety instructions included in this operating manual (see chapter 5).
• The garden pump can, for example, be mounted and operated close to a well or a rain water cistern on your
property.
• The garden pump can be solidly mounted using the attachment holes in the stand. This stops the pump slipping
during operation.
Use appropriately sized screws and washers. To prevent vibrations, a special rubber support can be used.
Only mount/operate the garden pump in a dry place which is protected from flooding.
At outside temperatures below 0°C, the water freezes in the garden pump which will seriously damage
the pump.
Drain the garden pump in good time (open the drain openings at the top and bottom of the pump) or
store the garden pump where it will not freeze (e.g. in a cellar).
Do not use force when screwing on the stand as this can damage the stand.
Check the fastenings occasionally as they may become loose due to the vibrations of the garden pump.
• On delivery, the inlet and pressure sides are provided with plastic covers. Remove the covers.
• Mount the attachments on the inlet and outlet sides of the garden pump.
Do not use force when attaching! Tighten the fittings by hand only!
• Attach the inlet hose to the front opening of the garden pump. Use an appropriate hose clip to ensure the hose does
not slip. This also avoids air leakage.
Only use an appropriate inlet hose. Conventional water hoses are not suitable. Due to the under-
pressure during the suction operation, the cross section is reduced which prevents suction.
An inlet hose has reinforcement e.g. a steel spiral.
• In order to prevent self-draining of the suction hose when the garden pump is switched off, a non-return valve should
be mounted at the end of the suction hose (the part that is immersed in water). Generally, the latter is available
combined with a coarse filter.
Only clean water may be pumped; the max. grain size of impurities must not exceed 3mm. Large
impurities (leave, dirt, stones etc.) lead to blockages in the garden pump.
• Depending on how you use the garden pump, the use of a filter on the suction side is recommended in order to
prevent damaging the pump.
