13. Add lithium based lubricant to the bearing
housings at BOTH ends of the reels (refer
to the lubrication fitting in Figure 9).
Bearings at both ends are partially packed
with lubricant at the factory, but additional
lubricant is required once assembled. Use
a pressure gun to add lubricant until it
starts to escape from the fittings. Wipe off
any excess lubricant.

CUTTING HEAD BALANCING
When the cutting heads are lowered to the turf, they
must contact the turf evenly across the entire
length of the cutting head. If the front cutting
heads contact the leval suface unevenly, refer to the
adjustment section in the service and parts manual.
Cutting head balance weights are shipped with the
power unit strapped to the pull frame for each
cutting head. Weights must be removed from
shipping location and installed as required on
each cutting head.

NOTICE
Cutting heads with groomer only or
groomer with rotary brush accessories
are properly balanced and require no
weights. Remove weights as described in
the following steps. Retain weights and
hardware for use if the groomer accessory
is removed.
With the cutting heads mounted (as
described in the previous procedures)
place the machine on a flat, level surface.
Place the reel enable switch to the off
position and lower all three cutting head lift
arms and shut off machine and remove
the key.
Remove retainer pin from the pull frame
pivot shaft. Raise lift arm (by hand) to
allow the weights to be removed. Cut the
strap securing the weight stack to the pull
frame and remove weight stack. With
weight stack resting on floor or workbench,
remove the straps securing the weights
together.
The balancing weight attachment
hardware is shipped with the power unit
and located in the tool box above the left
front wheel. Locate two (2) 5/16–18 x 2
screws and the four tapped holes on the
left end of the cutting head.
While facing the left end of the cutting
head (with grease fitting located at the top)
position shaft cover and loosely install two
5/16–18 x 2 screws in upper right and
lower left tapped holes (See Fig. 10).
Leave enough space between the shaft
cover and the cutting head to slide in
seven weights.

Slide the weight over the shaft and top
stud, rotating the weight to engage the
bottom slot with the lower left hand stud.
Add seven weights to each reel carrier.
When the seven weights have been
installed, tighten the screws to secure the
weights.
