• Strip the cable ends to a length of approximately 6 mm.
• If necessary dismantle the cover of the module using the two
screws (see sketch in chapter 5) and remove the module cover.
• Pull off the cable clamp and insert the stripped cable ends in the
clamps. Observe the correct polarity (according to sketch) and the
polarity indicator in the housing close to the cable clamps.
• Insert the cable clamp and check the correct polarity of the cable
connection again.
• If necessary install the cover of the module and fix the smoke
detector to the socket. Make sure, when placing the smoke
detector on the socket, that the cables are not clamped by the
neoprene sealing. In front of the cable clamp and on top of the
cover of the module there is space for cables.
• Test the function of each mounted smoke detector according to
chapter 4.
In normal (periodic) tests of the function, which are effected by
pressing the control button up to the pressure point for approxi-
mately 2 seconds, only the tested smoke detectors is activated.
In case of a smoke alarm (e.g. tobacco smoke) all interconnected
smoke detectors will give alarm. However, the red LED will only
flash on the smoke detector that set off the alarm. If the alarm is
not transmitted to the other devices or if false alarms occur
frequently, check the correct polarity of the interconnection!
