5. Network connection of several smoke detectors

The smoke detector of the RM 100-series can be connected with a
two-wire line. This enables the system to set off alarms across longer
distances (for example from remote parts of a building).
You can also connect smoke detectors of the RM 100-series with a
radio transmitter connection.
You can install a twisted pair wire e.g. J-Y(ST)Y 2 x 2 x 0,6 mm.
This allows an overall connection length of up to 400 m.
Up to 40 smoke detectors of the RM 100-series are interconnectible
this way.
• Wire the connection line according to the following sketch. Note
that the cabling of the entire system is in correct polarity.
• If a surface installation is necessary mount the device using the
spacers supplied. In doing so you avoid to squeeze the cable
when inserting it into the smoke detector.
• Pass the cables through the opening of the socket and fix them in
the desired length with a cable fastener at the support of the
socket (see sketch in chapter 3). Allow additional cable length for
a smooth change of the batteries later.
