To avoid false alarms the smoke detector is not supposed to be
installed in the following rooms and sites:
• Kitchen/bathroom: heavy steams in these rooms cause false
alarms
• Rooms with an open fire place: danger of false alarms
• Close to halogen lamps, transformers or halogen lamp rope-
systems, as well as close to fluorescent lamps and energy saving
lamps (minimum distance 50 cm)
• Garages: exhaust fumes (smoke) cause false alarms
• Dusty and dirty rooms: measuring chamber quickly contaminates,
or false alarms are set off
• Close to windows, ventilators, fans and all other places where
strong air movement occurs
• Close to smoking areas: tobacco smoke causes false alarms
3. Mounting and installation
Mounting
• After careful choice of the installation site mark two hole positions
on the ceiling using the mounting holes in the socket (to remove
the smoke detector from the socket turn them counter-clockwise
to each other).
• Drill two holes, insert plugs and fix the socket with two screws.
• If you want to insert extra cables for extension, the smoke detector
can also be installed using the two spacers included. Use the two
mounting holes to fix the spacers (see sketch).
