Inspection and servicing

Use appropriate protective gear as

specified in plant operator's guidelines.
Shut off plant or plant component.

Secure against recommissioning.

Depressurize the plant or plant
G
component.
The operator must carry out regular visual
examination of the ball valves dependent on
the operating conditions and the potential
danger in order to prevent leakage and
damage. The ball valve also has to be
disassembled in corresponding intervals
and checked for wear (see chapter 13
"Disassembly").
12.1 General information for
operator replacement
The following tools are required
for replacing the operator:
Open-end wrench

Wrench

Position of the ball:
Check the position of the ball indicated

by the groove 1 in the shaft top and
compare with positon indicator, rotate
ball valve to correct position if necessary.
Groove transverse to piping direction:

Ball valve closed.
Groove in piping direction:
®
Ball valve open.
