• Secure the installation with a suitable safety restraint rope or a safety net. The safety restraint rope or
the net must be able to support the moving head independently of the main mounting support in the event
that the main support system fails.
• Make sure that the projector head on the moving head can move freely; it must not hit anything or be
obstructed by any objects.

9. DMX 512 connection

You can operate a maximum of 32 devices in a DMX chain without overloading the controller.
The maximum total length of the DMX chain should not exceed 96 m (max. 3 m from one device
to the next) without an additional amplifier.
The use of XLR microphone cables may interfere with the DMX signal transmission. If so,
please use special DMX high-frequency cables.

a) Connecting a DMX controller

Only connect the device to a DMX controller with a DMX-512 protocol.
• Connect the INPUT port (7) to the output on the DMX controller.
• Use a shielded XLR cable to establish the connection. Depending on the DMX operation mode ("BASIC" /
"ADVANCED"), the controller must have 11 or 14 available control channels.
• Connect the OUTPUT port (6) to the DMX input on the subsequent device.
• If the moving head is the last or the only device in the DMX chain, insert a plug with a 120 ohm/0.25 W
terminating resistor into the OUTPUT socket (between Pin2 and Pin3).

b) Setting up a master-slave chain

The moving head can also be used as a device in a master-slave chain controlled by a DMX controller. In
this setup, the integrated controller on the master device controls the connected slave devices.
• Connect the OUTPUT port (6) on the master device to the INPUT port (7) on the first slave device.
