8. Setting up and mounting

The setup and the installation of the device must be carried out by a specialist who is familiar
with the hazards and the relevant regulations. Maintenance, operation and commissioning of
this device must only be carried out by qualified persons.
When choosing a location for your device, ensure that you avoid impacts, vibrations, dust, hot
and cold temperatures and damp environments. In addition, no powerful transformers or motors
should be used close to the device.
The moving head must only be used in places with a maximum ambient temperature of 45 °C.
Never cover the product. Ensure sufficient ventilation when setting up the device with other
equipment. Maintain a sufficient distance to other devices and walls. Never place the moving
head in direct proximity of heat sources. Do not point any strong spotlights or light sources at
the device. This may cause the device to overheat (fire hazard!).
Do not drill or screw additional screws into the casing in order to secure the device. This may
expose you to a dangerously high voltage when the device is touched.
The device must be mounted out of normal reach.
Illuminated objects must be at least 1.3 m away from the device's light emission source.
Highly flammable materials such as decorative fabrics must also be kept at a distance of at least
1.3 m from the device in order to prevent a fire hazard!
When mounting the product, make sure that the power cord is neither jammed nor damaged by
sharp edges.
During installation or service work, the area below the place of installation must be cordoned
off.
The setup/installation surface or fixture must be designed to carry ten times the load capacity
for at least one hour without causing any permanent damage or deformation.
It is also essential that the device is secured by means of a second safety restraint that is
independent of the actual mounting supports when installing it in an elevated position. No part
of the installation should fall down if the main suspension system fails.
Observe all relevant regulations for your country when mounting/installing the device.
Acceptance test (in case of industrial/public use): Before first use and after any significant
modifications, the installation (including the electrical connections) must be inspected by an
official expert. An inspection must be carried out by an expert on an annual basis. An acceptance
test must be carried out by an expert at least once every four years.
• The moving head can be placed on a surface using the mounting brackets on the bottom of the device.
• If you do not wish to stand the device and would like to mount it to a suitable traverse system, secure the
product using the mounting brackets and a suitable hanging clamp (available separately).
• To do so, mount the mounting bracket to the bottom plate using the screws provided and secure the
moving head to the traverse system using a suitable hanging clamp. Only secure the device with
mounting materials that are suitable for the mounting setup and for carrying the load of the moving head.
• The assembly must never swing freely.
