5. Battery installation / Connect power supply

Observe correct polarity while inserting the battery. Remove the battery if the
device is not used for a long period of time to avoid damage through leaking.
Leaking or damaged battery might cause acid burns when contact with skin,
therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted battery.
Keep battery out of reach of children. Do not leave the battery lying around, as
there is risk, which children or domestic pets could swallow it.
Make sure that battery is not dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire.
Never recharge non-rechargeable battery. There is a risk of explosion!

A) Weather station

1.
Remove the battery case cover (7) on the back of the weather station.
.
Insert the batteries while paying attention to the correct polarity ("+" positive; "-" negative)
(two 1.5 V batteries, type AA Mignon).
3.
Put the cover back on.
4.
In addition to or instead of batteries, the AC/DC network adapter can be used. Insert the plug-in
power supply unit provided into a household wall outlet and connect the adapter plug to the
adapter socket (6) on the underside of the weather station.
If the weather station is at first operated only with batteries and then for a longer
period is supplied by the plug-in power supply unit, the main supply then switches
over to the plug-in power supply unit. The batteries then function only as buffer
supply in case of a power outage.

B) Outside temperature transmitter

1.
Remove the battery case cover (7) from the back of the outside transmitter.
.
Insert the batteries into the battery case while paying attention to the correct polarity
"+" positive; "-" negative) (two 1.5 V batteries, type AA Mignon).
3.
Put the cover back (7) on.
In case of a change of batteries in one of the units, a new basic setting must be
undertaken with all units. This is necessary since upon being put into operation,
the outside transmitter transmits a random security code to the weather station
which must be received and stored within the first 3 minutes after being put into
operation.
