c) Charging Rechargeable Batteries in the Transmitter
For operation with rechargeable batteries you can con-
nect a charging cable (not included in the supply) to the
charging socket (1) and charge the rechargeable batte-
ries in the transmitter when the transmitter is switched
off.
Always make sure the polarity of the connecting plug is
correct. The inner contact of the charging socket must
be connected to the plus terminal (+) and the outer con-
tact to the minus terminal (-) of the charger.
The charging current should be about 1/10 of the capa-
city of the inserted rechargeable batteries.
For rechargeable batteries with a capacity of 2000 mAh,
this corresponds to a charging current of approx. 200 mA
and charging time takes approx. 14 h.
Only connect the charger when you have inserted rechargeable batteries (1.2 V/cell) in the transmitter.
Never try to recharge batteries (1.5V/cell) with the charger; there is a danger of explosion and of fire!
In order to avoid damage to internal printed conductors and connections, please do not use quick char-
gers.
Since a protective diode is integrated in the transmitter, no chargers can be used that briefly interrupt the
charging current in order to measure the voltage of the rechargeable battery. In this case, remove the
rechargeable batteries from the transmitter for charging.
d) Switching on the Transmitter
When new batteries or freshly charged rechargeable batteries have been inserted, check the position at the toggle
switches. All switches must be in the front position „0". The control sticks for the pitch function (see figure 1, item 14)
must be pushed to the bottom-most position.
Then turn on the transmitter with the on/off switch (see figure 1, item 9). For this, push the switch from the lower
position „OFF" to the upper position „ON". The green LED display (see figure 1, item 11) indicates the power supply
of the transmitter.
If the power supply is not sufficient any more for faultless operation, the green LED display starts flashing red. In this
case, stop operation of your model as quickly as possible. To continue operating the transmitter, recharge the batteries
or insert new batteries.
Only connect the charger when the batteries have been discharged completely to avoid the memory effect in NiCd
batteries.
If the LED display is lit green after switching on and flashes red every 4 seconds, the toggle switch for the 3D
setting (see figure 1, item 4) is not in the correct position. In this case, the drive motor would not start if the
flight battery is connected to the helicopter and the control stick for the pitch function is pushed forward.
If the LED display flickers red after a brief time, the switch for the binding function (see figure 1, item 12) may have
been pushed by accident. In this case, switch off the transmitter without delay, deactivate the switch and then take
the transmitter into operation again.
