Carrrying out Measurements

• Switch on the instrument by means of switch (3).
Define the following steps before reading the measurement values:
1) Selection of time evaluation using switch (5):
2) Selection of the evaluation filter A or C using the A/ C keys (4)
3) If required, selection of maximum or minimum value display using the key
(6): When selecting this setting, only the highest or the lowest value of a
measurement series are displayed.
• Set measurement range using the navigation keys (9). When exceeding the
measurement range, the symbol "OV" is displayed. Under-running is signali-
sed by the symbol "UN".
The running time of the measurement is indicated below the measurement
value. If the display of the maximum or minimum value has been selected,
the pertaining point in time (since switching on the instrument) is displayed.
Resetting the clock is realised by switching the instrument on and off.
If the measurement range, the frequency evaluation, or the time evaluation
are modified during active measurement, the value memorised for minimum
or maximum value is deleted.
5.3

Data memory

The Sound level meter 93517 is equipped with an integrated data memory and al-
lows saving of up to 99 individual measurements.
• After having completed a measurement, the result may be saved by pressing
the MEM key (7). The symbol [M] is briefly displayed as well as the number
of the assigned disk spaces. If the memory is full, the symbol "FULL" is dis-
played and the counter remains on "99".
• When pressing the READ key (8), the memorised values are displayed – to
be recognised by the symbol [R].
• The navigation keys (9) are used to scroll up or down and to display the in-
dividual measurement results, starting with the last memory location.
´ • When pressing the READ key (8) again, the memory mode is quit (to be re-
cognised by the missing symbol [R]).
"SLOW" for relatively stable levels.
"FAST" for highly fluctuating levels.
