Cleaning

If the instrument is dirty after daily usage, it is advised to clean it by using a humid
cloth and a mild household detergent.
Prior to cleaning, ensure that instrument is switched off and disconnected from ex-
ternal voltage supply and any other instruments connected (such as UUT, control
instruments, etc.).
Never use acid detergents or dissolvants for cleaning.

Calibration

A conventional calibrator at 94 dB and 1 kHz can be used for precise calibration. It
is recommended to proceed as follows:
• Set frequency evaluation filter (4) to dB(A) and the time evaluation (5) to FAST.
Make sure that the MIN/ MAX function is not activated. I.e. the symbol "min"
(18) or "max" (17) must not be displayed.
• Connect the calibrator onto your Sound level meter.
Please refer to the calibrator instruction manual for correct calibrator opera-
tion.
• Using the screwdriver (12) supplied with the instrument, turn the lateral ad-
justment screw (12) until the Sound level meter indicates 94 dB.
• Remove the calibrator again. Now, you may perform the measurements as
usual.
We recommend a calibration interval of one year.
