6.1.2.2 Three-wire connection (connection diagram No. 5)
It is assumed that the three leads of a three-wire connection
have identical resistances and no compensation is necessary.
The lead resistance must not be greater than 30 Ω per lead.
6.1.2.3 Four-wire connection (connection diagram No. 6)
The four-wire measurement is independent of lead resistance
within wide limits and therefore no compensation is necessary.
The lead resistance must be greater than 30 Ω per lead.
6.2 Measuring output leads
Connect the output leads for output A to pins 16d (+) and
16z (–) as shown in Fig. 4.
Note:
The maximum permissible external resistance
R
max. of the EURAX V 604 must not be
ext
exceeded (see section «5. Technical data»).

6.3 Connecting the power supply

Connect the power supply to pins 32d (
shown in Fig 4.
A two-pole switch must be included in the supply connection
where facility for switching EURAX V 604 off is desired.
Note: An external supply fuse must be provided for DC
supply voltages > 125 V.
6.4 Connecting the output contact
Connect the output contact signalling leads as shown in
Fig. 4 and Table 6.

7. Programming the transmitter

A PC with the Windows operating system, the programming
cable PRKAB 600 and the PC software VC 600 are needed
to program the transmitter.

AC: ≤ 0.5 A/125 V

DC: ≤ 1 A/0.01... 30 V
(30 W)
1. It is not permitted to use the programming
cable PRKAB 600 for programming de-
vices of other manufacture.
2. (This point only applies to the "intrinsically
safe" [EEx ia] IIC version of the EURAX
V 604)
The programming connector (9) is not electri-
cally insulated from the intrinsically safe
measuring input circuit. It is therefore essen-
tial to observe the following:
– Programming may only be performed
using the programming cable PRKAB 600
(Ex-approval:
PTB No. Ex-94.C.4032 U or
SEV admission No. 94,6 60104.01).
– The programming connector (9) max. only
be used briefly.
– The plug connector between the socket
connector and the expandable cable (see
arrow on the diagram) must not be
withdrawn when the expandable cable is
connected to the programming instrument.
For this reason, the expandable cable
must be plugged into the socket connector
before establishing the connection bet-
ween the device and the PC.

Of the programmable details listed in section "4. Brief
description", one parameter – the output signal – has to be
determined by PC programming as well as mechanical
setting on the transmitter:
... the output signal range by PC
... the type of output has to be set by DIP switch on the
instrument.
Select the type of output signal by setting the DIP switches
(11) as given in Table 7 (see Fig. 5).
