Measuring output
Output signal A
The output signal can be either load-independent DC current
I
or DC voltage U
. The desired mode is set on DIP switches
A

Open-circuit sensor supervision
Resistance thermometers, thermo-couples, remote sensors
and potentiometer input circuits are supervised. The circuits
of DC voltage and current inputs are not supervised.
Pick-up/reset level:
1 to 15 kΩ acc. to kind of measure-
ment and range
Signalling modes
Output signals A:
Programmable fixed values.
The fixed value of A is configured to
either maintain their values at the
instant the open-circuit occurs or
adopt a preset value between – 10
and 110% (referred to output span),
e.g. between 1.2 and 10.8 V (for a
scale of 2 to 10 V)

Frontplate signals:
The green LED ON flashes and the
red LED
the open-circuit sensor
Output contact K:
Relay 3 with 1 potential free change-
over contact (see Fig. 4 and Table 7).
The output contact can be used:
a)
as an additional means of signalling operation of the
open-circuit sensor supervision when the transmitter
is used in conjunction with resistance thermometers,
thermo-couples, resistance sensors and potentio-
meters.
b)
to monitor the measured variable in relation to a limit
or its rate-of-change where an additional means of
signalling operation of the open-circuit sensor
supervision (see "a") is considered unnecessary.
c)
to monitor the measured variable in relation to a limit
or its rate-of-change when measuring a DC voltage or
a current.
Note on a): The relay has to be activated by programming its
operating mode as "energised" or "de-ener-
gised".
Available operating modes are:
"Output at last value, relay energised"
"Output at last value, relay de-energised"
"Output at setting, relay energised"
"Output at setting, relay de-energised"
Note on b): The relay must be activated by programming:
"Output corr. to input variable, relay inactive"
The limit must also be programmed (see Section
"Limit")
Note on c): It is only necessary to program the limit (see
Section "Limit")
