Bi-Wiring

Bi-Wiring
(bridged mono
mode)
The term Bi-Wiring describes an alternative method of
connecting loudspeakers in which the signals for the bass and
mid- / high-frequency ranges pass along separate speaker
cables.
This gives the user the opportunity to use the optimum cable for
each part of the frequency spectrum.
The pre-requisite for a Bi-Wiring system is that the speakers
should feature a bi-wiring terminal.
It is essential to remove the link pieces at the Bi-Wiring
terminals if you want to use this system of wiring.
In this version of Bi-Wiring two separate power amplifiers are
used, each of them operated in bridged mono mode.
This method of operation in-creases the system's power
reserves, and has a positive effect on the system's dynamic
response.
For a given volume each amplifier supplies a lower output
voltage, thus reducing inter-modulation effects and distortion.
The overall result is improved system resolution and better
spatial imaging.
It is essential to remove the link pieces at the Bi-Wiring
terminals if you want to use this system of wiring.
