Notice: Please do not leave the sensor in the calibration
buffer for longer than 1 hour. Too long an exposure may
result in high sensor drift in the process.
5.2

Mounting the membrane body

– After calibration of the pH electrode rinse the pH electrode
with de-ionized water and carefully dab it with a paper
tissue.
– Fill the new membrane body half way with CO
– Make sure that all air bubbles are removed from the mem-
brane body. Air bubbles can be removed by carefully
tapping on the membrane body.
– Slip the membrane body over the pH electrode while
holding the sensor in a vertical position. The excess
electrolyte that will be displaced should be removed with
a paper tissue.
h
Notice: No electrolyte, sample media or contamination
should be present between the membrane body and the
cap sleeve. Please check carefully.
– Carefully slip the cap sleeve over the fitted membrane
body, holding the sensor in a vertical position, and screw
it tight. The cap sleeve must be clean and tight.
5.3
Calibration of the CO
The InPro 5000 is in situ sterilizable or in an autoclave. After
sterilization a process calibration step is needed to achieve
accurate measurements.
The process calibration can be performed by using the
transmitter's calibration menu. For further details please
refer to the main manual.

Maintenance

We recommend using a new membrane body after each
batch. After each calibration of the pH electrode new CO
electrolyte should be filled in the membrane body.
If the pH electrode shows a sluggish response time and/or
insufficient sensitivity, the pH-sensitive glass can be reac-
tivated using an HF solution (p/n 51 319 053). For further
details please refer to the main manual.
Typically, after 10 – 20 sterilization cycles the pH electrode
should be replaced. Please refer to the instruction manual
of the replacement interior body InPro 5000 (i).

Disposal

It is the user's responsibility to dispose of the spent spare
parts and if necessary the sensor in a professional manner.
Sensors contain electronic components that require special
disposal without any hazard for humans, and with no risk
of harm to the environment. Please observe the applicable
local or national regulations concerning the disposal of
"waste electrical and electronic equipment".
8

Warranty

Warranted free of manufacturing defects for a term of 12
months after delivery.
9

Storage condition

For storage we recommend filling the membrane body with
fresh CO
wetting cap, filled with CO
ing-out of the membrane.
