Purpose and safety stipulations

Safety advice

• The PENTAGON was designed to be utilised as a rescue parachute for paraglid-
ers, hang gliders and paramotors. Its use for free-fall parachuting is strictly pro-
hibited.
• Deploying the PENTAGON is at the user's own risk. Neither the manufacturer
nor the seller can be held responsible for any personal injury or material damage
related to this rescue system.
• Any unauthorised modification to the rescue equipment or the deployment bag
will result in the termination of the parachutes operating license and invalidation
of the certification.
General information on paragliding
As an aviation sport, paragliding and therefore the use of parachutes, is regulated.
Depending on your country of origin, instruction may be compulsory. Additionally,
there are statutory requirements (for example air law) which must be adhered to.
Paraglider pilots must be able to prove that they have valid licences and must have
insurance, as required by their country of residence. Pilots must be capable of
judging meteorological conditions correctly. Depending on a country's applicable
regulations, the use of a helmet and back protector, as well as carrying a para-
chute, is mandatory and highly advisable.
Pilots must accept responsibility for the risk inherent in participating in the sport.
Paragliding is an adventure sport and can lead to severe injuries and death. As a
manufacturer, we cannot be held responsible for an individual's improper practice
and participation in the sport.
We recommend that inexperienced pilots and those with a heightened desire for
safety should undertake paragliding under the auspices of an accredited school or
instructor. Many of our NOVA Partners can offer this service.
Recommendations
Harness and parachute are an important unit. Only pilots who feel safe will
react correctly in an emergency situation. If the equipment is too demanding, it can
increase the risk of mistakes.
After purchasing a new rescue system, we recommend deployment on a simula-
tor or participating in a parachute training event. Practising the deployment on a
G-Force trainer also brings valuable safety benefits and creates confidence in the
equipment. In general, it is advisable to continually improve knowledge and skills
with regard to pilotage and the peculiarities of your flying equipment. In addition,
the owner is required to comply with the stipulated inspection schedule.
