8. OPERATION

8.1 Selecting the operating mode

Select the operating mode for each channel pair:
• normal operation:If the operating mode selector switch is disenganged these two channels are operated
independently of each other. The corresponding LED BRIDGE does not light up.
• bridge operation: If the operating mode selector switch is engaged, the input signal of the second channel
is additionally switched to the first channel of the channel pair in an inverted way. The
corresponding LED BRIDGE lights up. An input signal at the first channel of the pair is
ignored.

8.2 Switching on filters

Each channel has a switchable filter with selectable high pass or low pass characteristics. Thus the amplifier
can be used for 2-way applications by operating mid-high range speakers via channels with high pass filter
and bass speakers via channels with low pass filter.
1. Press the switch FILTER to switch on the filter.
2. Then select the characteristics with the switch LOW PASS/HI PASS:
• switch disengaged: high pass filter
• switch engaged:
3. In bridge mode the filter adjustment is made only at the second channel of the channel pair.

8.3 Switching on/off

To prevent loud switching noise, always switch on all other units of the amplifier system before switching on
the power amplifier. After operation, switch off the power amplifier first. Prior to switching on set all level
controls to the left stop position. Then switch on the amplifier with the power switch. The power indicator
lights up. After switching on, the turn-on delay is activated for a few seconds to protect the speakers.

8.4 Adjusting the level

1. Set the output of the mixer or preamplifier to its rated value (0 dB) or to the highest undistorted output
signal.
2. Adjust the level controls to the desired volume value. If the clip indicator lights up, the amplifier is
overloaded. In this case, reduce the volume correspondingly.
3. In bridge mode the level control for the first channel of the channel pair is disabled. Volume adjustment is
made with the level control for the second channel.
Additional information on the operation
When operating the amplifying system, please make sure that the loudspeakers always sound well. When
distortions can be heard, either the amplifier or the loudspeaker is overloaded. Overloads can quickly lead to
amplifier or speaker damage. In order to avoid damage, please reduce the volume immediately when distortions
can be heard. When speaker systems are destroyed by overload, the guarantee becomes void. Always check the
sound pressure level with a meter in order to keep to the threshold.

8.5 Groundlift switch

If an interfering hum noise can be heard without a music signal, a ground loop may be the reason for this.
The ground lift selector switch allows for interrupting the ground loop and the humming should be eliminated.
For this purpose the set the selector switch to position LIFT. Thus signal ground and housing ground are
separated.
