General
The forces which an airplane needs to stay in the
air depend upon its airspeed, weight, drag and the
amount of lift. Flying into the wind creates more lift
relative to its airspeed. Conversely a tail wind will
require a greater airspeed to generate an equal
amount of lift. Take off and landing should
therefore always take place against the wind
whenever possible. Be aware that when the plane
is flying towards the pilot, the left and right controls
are reversed.
Launching by hand

The
hand as it has no landing gear. We recommend
that an assistant executes launching so that the
pilot can react to unforeseen attitude at any time.
Follow the procedure as detailed below:
-
Make sure that the transmitter frequency is
available.
-
Switch on transmitter, then connect battery.

WIND
Correct
The model should be thrown as horizontal as
possible to achieve an easily controllable attitude.
If it is thrown downwards it becomes faster and
may be difficult to level up before it hits the ground.
If the throw is directed steeply upward the flight

WIND
Wrong, downward
A good way to get accustomed to this
phenomenon is to practice on a PC using a flight
simulation program.
For instance CARSON "CFG Flight simulator" item
No. 508068 can be recommended.
For absolute beginners we recommend that they
are assisted by an expert model pilot and only take
over control of the transmitter when the plane is
flying at a safe altitude.
-
Check all rudder and aileron functions.
-
Hold model in the centre of gravity over the
throwers head as shown.
-
Push the throttle stick all way to the front,
testing intensity of thrust.
-
Throw the model forward in one swift
movement.
-
Control attitude of the plane immediately and
climb at a flat angle.

WIND
Wrong, too
steep upward
speed diminishes and the ensuing breaking away
from the airflow (no more lifting forces) is likely to
result in a crash. Always try to launch into the wind.
