ADJUSTING THE SPEED CONTROLLER

Skydreamer
The
take off. Prior to this, the functioning of the speed
controller must be adjusted or tested. It features a
unit which prevents accidental motor start-up when
switching on with an incorrectly positioned
transmitter control stick and provides an automatic
motor shut down if the rechargeable battery
voltage falls below 5 V.
1. Switch on the transmitter and then the airplane
(receiver).
2. Pull back the throttle stick to the "motor off"
position and leave it there for at least 3
seconds. If the motor continues to run also pull
the throttle trim to minimum.
3. Now slowly push the throttle stick forward (up).
The motor starts and the speed increases.
4. If the stick is moved near to the maximum
position the motor should run at full speed. Use
the the throttle trim to check whether a higher
speed can be attained; nevertheless, the
position "motor off" must be secured.
5. If the motor does not start at all, it is probably
due to the reverse switch of the transmitter (ch

FLYING

Pre flight check

Like any real airplane, the model aircraft should
undergo a complete pre flight check. This begins
with visually checking that all parts are in the
correct place and firmly attached to the model.
Next, switch on the radio equipment and test for
the correct operation of the ailerons etc. The
voltage indicator of the transmitter must indicate
sufficient power for the flight to commence. In the
event of a hard landing any damaged items must
be completely repaired before flying is resumed.
Testing the reach of the radio
system
Skydreamer
Before flying your
time it is vital to check the range of the radio signal.
Only in this instance do we recommend that the
antenna remains fully retracted in i.e. not
extended.

3, see page 14) being in
the wrong position.
Change the position
and try again.
6. The electronic speed
controller has a power
off function if the
rechargeable battery
voltage falls below the
specified voltage. If the
voltage is lower than 5
Volts, the engine will be
cut off. Since the
battery has a certain
ability to "recharge" it
may be possible to
restart the engine for a
short period after a
pause and drawing
back the throttle stick
(see 2.).
-
Switch on the transmitter first, then the
receiver.
-
Slowly increase the distance between the
transmitter and the model, which should be
held by a second person as precautionary
measure. Ensure that they keep the
propeller away from any part of their body
-
Operate the steering sticks in short intervals
and monitor the reaction of the rudders.
-
Your R/C is performing well if the rudders
show the correct response at a distance of
about 30m between transmitter and the
model.
Never fly if your radio system does not work
perfectly, even if it is a temporary fault.
