doubler ring, the doubler ring to the framework, and the mast
plate to the hull. Withdraw the mast again.
- Turn the boat over and apply a fillet of epoxy round the mast
sleeve inside the hull.

- Press the rubber grommets and metal eyelets into the moun-
ting lugs of the sail servo 4.1.
- Cut down the servo output lever 4.2 as shown, and drill out
the linkage hole to 3 mm Ø - Fig. 31.
- Set the servo to neutral from the transmitter, then fit the out-
put lever on the output shaft.
- Slip the collets 4.3 on the winch arm 4.4. Glue the ball-links
4.5 to the winch arm, taking care to line them up with each
other - Fig. 32.
- Move the servo to one end-point. Position the winch arm
centrally and fix it to the servo output lever using the screws
4.6. Move the servo back to the neutral position - Figs. 33
and 34.
- Fit the rubber grommets and eyelets in the steering servo 4.7,
and set the servo to neutral. Cut down the servo output arm
4.8 as shown in Fig. 35.
- Slide the bellows 4.9 onto the steering pushrod 4.10, and
glue the threaded coupler 4.11 to the rod. Screw a clevis 4.12
on the coupler. Drill out the second clevis 4.12 to 2 mm Ø and
glue it to the other end of the pushrod.
- Connect the servo output arm 4.8 to the tiller 4.13 using the
pushrod. Press the collet 4.14 into the tiller and fit the grubs-
crew 4.15 - Fig. 36.
- Install the switch harness 4.16. Fit the servos and secure
them with the self-tapping screws supplied. Slip the comple-
te steering pushrod in place and fit the servo output arm on
the rudder servo.
- Lightly grease the shaft of the rudder 2.14.

- Fit the washer 2.15 and the O-ring 2.16 on the rudder shaft
2.14, and slide it into the bush. Fit the tiller on the top end of
the shaft. Press the rudder upward lightly from the underside,
and tighten the grubscrew 4.15 in the tiller.
- The rudder should now be exactly at the 'straight ahead'
position. If necessary, adjust the clevis on the threaded coup-
ler until this is the case.
- Slide the bellows onto the projecting end of the tube, and
check that it forms a watertight seal all round.
- Fit short pieces of silicone tubing 4.17 over the clevises to
prevent them springing open - Figs. 37 and 38.
- Uncoil the flexible aerial attached to the receiver 4.18. Apply
pieces of Velcro 'loop' tape 4.20 to the receiver and the recei-
ver battery 4.19. Cut matching pieces of 'hook' tape 4.21 to
size - Fig. 39.
- Press the 'hook' tape into place, position the receiver and
battery and press them onto the Velcro tape - Fig. 40.
- Connect the receiving system, ready to work. The aerial is not
deployed until the boat is almost complete.

- Attach the ring-screws 5.1 and the flanged balls 5.2 to the
bottom mast fitting 3.3. Fit the self-locking nuts 5.3 and cut
off the excess screw length. De-burr the cut ends - Figs. 41
and 42.
- Fit the nuts 5.5 on the kicking straps 5.4. Attach the short
threaded end of the kicking straps to the centre mast fitting
5.6 using the self-locking nuts 5.7; ensure that the kicking
straps can swivel freely. Cut off excess thread length - Figs.
43 and 44.
- Fig. 45 shows the prepared mast fittings and sail rings in the
correct order, running from bottom to top.
- Glue the bottom mast fitting 3.3 to the mast 3.4 at a point 105
mm from the bottom end of the mast - Fig. 46.
- Slip one sail ring 5.8 and the centre mast fitting 5.6 on the
mast, and set the 65 mm spacing as shown. Note that the
mast fittings must be in line with each other. Tape the centre
mast fitting in place - Fig. 47.
- File off the triangular web on the centre mast fitting - Fig. 48.
- Fit four sail rings 5.8, the top mast fitting 5.9, two sail rings
and the masthead fitting 5.10 on the mast - Figs. 49 and 50.
- Do not glue the mast fittings at this stage.
