7. Connection and operation

a) Commissioning of the radio projection alarm clock

• First open the battery compartment lid on the rear of the radio projection alarm clock.
For this, push the lid away downwards and remove it.
• Then insert 3 new AA batteries into the battery compartment (B14) (not enclosed).
Insert the first battery at the very top, then the middle one and last the battery at the
very bottom.
Always ensure correct polarity. How to insert the batteries is marked in the battery
compartment by illustrations.
• After inserting the batteries, the display shows all display segments and the alarm
clock will emit a brief sound signal.
• Last, close the battery compartment lid again. Push it up until it latches.
• This completes the general commissioning of the radio projection alarm clock.
You can operate it without the plug-in mains adapter this way. However,
the display will only be lit and the projection switched on when the button
"SNOOZE/LIGHT" (A2) is pushed. This lasts about 5 seconds.
b) Connecting the plug-in mains adapter
After the power adapter is attached the display can be lit permanently and
permanent projection is achieved.
• Connect the output of the plug-in mains adapter to the intended socket B15 at the rear
of the radio projection alarm clock.
• Now plug the mains adapter into a mains socket.
Both permanent display illumination and permanent projection are now ena-
bled.
• To enable permanent projection, slide the "PROJECTION ON" (B10) switch on the
back to the right into position "ON".
• To enable permanent display illumination, slide the "LIGHT ON" (B2) switch to the
right into position "ON". The switch is below the battery compartment lid.
• When one of the two functions is deactivated, it can still be activated for 5 seconds
with the button "SNOOZE/LIGHT" (A2).
