e) Operating and setting the radio

If the radio is to be used in battery operation and the batteries are flat, the
radio will be switched off automatically.
The radio will always start up at the last frequency set.
• To switch on the radio, push the button A1 on the top of the radio projection alarm
clock for approx. 2 seconds.
• To switch off the radio again, push the button A1 again for approx. 2 seconds.
• You can set the volume of the radio with the middle switch at the right. Push the
switch up ("VOL +") (A10) to increase volume. Push the switch down ("VOL -") (A11)
to reduce volume.
• Before setting a station, first choose if you want to use the radio in FM or AM mode.
You can push the button "AM/FM" (A5) to switch between the two modes. The cur-
rent selection is indicated based on the display (C11, C12 and C13).
• Now set the desired reception frequency. For this, push the upper switch at the right
up ("CH +") (A8) to increase the frequency or down ("CH -") (A9), to reduce the fre-
quency.
If you only push the switch up or down briefly every time, you can set the frequency
manually in single steps (FM 0.05 MHz; AM 9 kHz).
If you keep the switch pushed for approx. 1 to 2 seconds, the search run up or down-
wards will start automatically. Once a station is found, the scan will stop. If you want
to interrupt automatic search, push the switch again briefly.
If you keep the switch pushed, the frequency will keep running up- or downwards.
Once you release the switch, the automatic station scan will be applied. To interrupt
the scan, push the switch again briefly.
• Once you have set the frequency of the desired station, you can save the station
in one of the 4 station buttons (A7). Push the button of the desired memory slot for
approx. 3 seconds until the display shows, e.g., "P01" (if you have pushed button 1).
Then release the button again. The station is saved.
You can save 4 stations each for FM and AM.
• To select a saved station, just push the respective station button in the FM or AM
mode.
