5.1.5. Ethernet connection

You can connect an Ethernet cable to the charging station by removing the cap from the waterproof RJ45
connector and connecting an RJ45 Ethernet cable. The Ethernet connection is used for the OCPP backend
and ModBus TCP communication.
Note: Waterproof connectors for RJ45 can be purchased separately.

5.1.6. RS-485 connection for local load management
You can connect up to 16 charging stations via the RS485 interface using RJ45 cables to use local load
management.
1. Open the decorative cover and the sealing cover as shown in Figs. 5-6 and 5-7.
2. Insert a pre-assembled cable with an RJ45 plug through the small cable gland of the first charging
station and connect the RJ45 plug to one of the two connections on the circuit board. Pin 3 of the RJ45
plug is RS485-B and pin 6 of the RJ45 plug is RS485-A.
3. Connect the RJ45 cable from the first charging station and a new RJ45 cable to the RJ45 sockets on
the second charging station.
4. Repeat the process for the other charging stations.
