Carrying the lawn mower
► Wear protective gloves.
► If the lawn mower is being carried with the
handlebar unfolded:
► One person uses both hands on the carry‐
ing handle (1) to hold the lawn mower, while
a second person uses both hands on the
handlebar (2) to hold the lawn mower.
► The lawn mower must be lifted and carried
by two people.
► If the lawn mower is being carried with the
handlebar folded:
► Fold down the handlebar,
► One person uses both hands on the carry‐
ing handle (1) to hold the lawn mower, while
a second person uses both hands on the
lower handlebar (3) to hold the lawn mower.
► The lawn mower must be lifted and carried
by two people.
Transporting the lawn mower in a vehicle
► Secure the lawn mower standing upright so
that it cannot tip over or move.

14.1
Storing the Lawn Mower
► Stop the engine and allow it to cool down.
► Detach the spark plug socket.
► Store the lawn mower in accordance with the
following conditions:
– The lawn mower is out of reach of children.
– The lawn mower is clean and dry.
– The lawn mower cannot tip over.
– The lawn mower cannot roll away.
If the lawn mower is to be stored for longer
than 3 months, also observe the following:
► Run the fuel tank empty.
► Have the fuel tank cleaned by a STIHL spe‐
cialist dealer.
► Change the engine oil as described in the
engine instruction manual.
► Unscrew the spark plug and fill 3 ml of
engine oil into the engine through the spark
plug opening.

► Run the fuel tank empty.

► Detach the starter grip from the cable guide.

ber of times.
WARNING

► Screw in the spark plug and tighten
