Troubleshooting Guide

Problem
Aircraft will not respond
Throttle is not set to lowest stick position and or throttle trim is too
to throttle but responds to
high
other controls
Throttle servo travel is lower than 00
Throttle channel is reversed
Reduced flight time or
Flight battery charge is low
aircraft underpowered
Flight battery is damaged
Flight conditions may be too cold
Battery capacity may be too low for flight conditions
Aircraft will not Bind
Transmitter is too near aircraft during binding process
(during binding) to
transmitter
Aircraft or transmitter is too close to large metal object
Bind plug is not installed correctly
Flight battery Transmitter battery charge is too low
ESC switch is off
Aircraft will not link (after
Transmitter is too near aircraft during linking process
binding) to transmitter
Aircraft or transmitter is too close to large metal object
Bind plug is left installed
Aircraft bound to different model memory (ModelMatch radios
only)
Flight battery Transmitter battery charge is too low
Transmitter may have been bound to a different model
(using different DSM Protocol)
ESC switch is off
Control surface does not
Control surface, control horn, linkage or servo damage
move
Wire is damaged or connections are loose
Transmitter is not bound correctly or the incorrect model was
selected
BEC (battery Elimination Circuit) of the ESC is damaged
ESC switch is off
Controls reversed
Transmitter settings are reversed
Motor power pulses then
ESC uses default soft Low Voltage Cutoff (LVC)
motor loses power
Weather conditions might be too cold
Battery is old, worn out or damaged
Battery C rating might be too small

Possible Cause
After Flying Check List
5. Repair or replace all damaged parts.
6. Store flight battery apart from aircraft and monitor the battery charge.
7. Make note of flight conditions and flight plan results.
Reset controls with throttle stick and throttle trim at lowest setting
Make sure throttle servo travel is 00 or greater
Reverse throttle channel on transmitter
Completely recharge flight battery
Replace flight battery and follow flight battery instructions
Make sure battery is warm before use
Replace battery or use a larger capacity battery
Move powered transmitter a few feet from aircraft, disconnect and
reconnect flight battery to aircraft
Move aircraft or transmitter away from large metal object
Install bind plug and bind aircraft to transmitter
Replace recharge batteries
Power on ESC switch
Move powered transmitter a few feet from aircraft, disconnect and
reconnect flight battery to aircraft
Move aircraft or transmitter away from large metal object
Rebind transmitter to aircraft and remove bind plug before cycling
power
Select correct model memory on transmitter
Replace/recharge batteries
Bind aircraft to transmitter
Power on ESC switch
Replace or repair damaged parts and adjust controls
Do a check of wires and connections, connect or replace as
needed
Re-bind or select correct model in transmitter
Replace ESC
Power on ESC switch
Do the Control Direction Test and adjust controls on transmitter
appropriately
Recharge flight battery or replace battery that is no longer
performing
Postpone flight until weather is warmer
Replace battery
Use recommended 30 C battery
