HeartStart Intrepid Instructions for Use Addendum

This document contains the following information:
• An updated battery information, including new part numbers and specification.
• Safety considerations related to defibrillation, implantable cardiac devices, and NBP cuff usage,
applicable to the HeartStart Intrepid.
Keep this addendum with the product's Instructions for Use.
NOTE: Battery information in the HeartStart Intrepid Instructions for Use that is not addressed in this
addendum is still applicable.

Battery Charging and Storage
The optimal temperature range for charging a battery is from 5°C to 30°C (36°F to 86°F).
The following practices are recommended to store a battery:
• Store the battery from 15°C to 35°C (59°F to 95°F) and from 25% to 75% relative humidity.
• For optimal battery life, the recommended charge level of a stored battery is 20% to 40%.
Check the charge level of the stored battery every two months, and recharge the battery if it is
below 20%.
• For battery storage up to six months, the battery should be removed from the device and
charged to approximately 60%. Check the battery at least every six months, and recharge the
battery to 60% as needed.
• Charge the stored battery to full capacity before use.
NOTE: To check the charge level on the battery itself, push the battery fuel gauge button. Each illuminated
blue light indicates a 20% charge. For more information, see "Battery Fuel Gauge" in the HeartStart
Intrepid Instructions for Use.
