11 Installation instructions and tips
• below statically loaded areas in the safety zone
(blue labelling)
11.2 Making adjustments to the
mounting sleeve
• Saw the mounting sleeve to size using a band
saw or manually. Always make the cut at an
angle and parallel to the cutting marks.
• Do not use hot wire cutters.
• Drilling: The mounting sleeve may only be
drilled through in the area of the line feed-
through and with a maximum wall thickness.
Otherwise, drilling is not permitted.
ATTENTION: Building damage due to leakage/
condensation (heat exchanger). Ingress of dirt
with a drilled mounting sleeve can damage the
fans. Additionally seal the line feedthrough.
ATTENTION: If holes are drilled in an unauthor-
ised location, the connection cable cannot be
inserted correctly. Then, final installation is not
possible.
• Do not damage the mounting sleeve during
installation or modify it in unauthorised
places, e.g. drilling or screwing. Damaged
mounting sleeves can lead to incorrect air in the
ventilation channel, malfunctions in the ventila-
tion, water ingress into the mounting sleeve and
even water ingress into the masonry.

11.3 Bonding the mounting sleeve

The mounting sleeve is bonded to the masonry
using either PU adhesive foam or thin-bed mortar.
Requirements for PU adhesive foam
ATTENTION: Only use low-expansion PU adhes-
ive foam.
Highly or normally expanding PU adhesive foam
pushes the mounting sleeve out of position. Be-
fore use, check the material compatibility of the
PU adhesive foam with the base material EPS.
Follow the processing instructions of the PU
adhesive.
Requirements for thin-bed adhesives
ATTENTION: An absorbent substrate is required
for bonding, e.g. bricks. Keep the substrate free
of dust and moisten before bonding.
The drying times and final stability of thin-bed ad-
hesives are highly dependent on the weather. We
recommend the use of low-expansion PU adhes-
ive foam.

Observe the processing instructions and set-
ting times of the adhesive according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
11.4 Cable laying, empty ducts, flush-
mounted boxes
Cable laying, empty ducts
Guide the empty duct/connection cable into the
mounting sleeve at one of the 4 predetermined
breaking points provided.
Position of the predetermined breaking points
for the line feedthrough (arrows).
4 predetermined breaking points openings
with uncut mounting sleeve. Large predeter-
mined breaking point for line feedthrough on
façade side. 3 small predetermined breaking
points for line feedthrough on wall/interior of
the building.
Observe symbols/pictograms on the mounting
sleeve.
• Use the nearest predetermined breaking point.
If possible, use one of the 3 rear predetermined
breaking points.
• Front predetermined breaking point for external
wall-side line feedthrough, for example for ex-
ternal wall insulation.
ATTENTION: Drill the front predetermined break-
ing point "A" to a max. depth of 25 to 30 mm. If
the hole is too deep, this causes damage to the
condensate drain → Building damage due to wa-
ter ingress. Ensure airtightness.
1. Drill through the desired predetermined break-
ing point in the mounting sleeve (Ø 20 mm).
2. Lay empty duct(s) up to the installation loca-
tion.
