14 Soffit installation vertical, 90°,
right/left RV 2 VLR/VLL
The following location and position inform-
ation is always viewed from the inside of the
building.
RV 2 VLR and RV 2 VLL mounting sleeves are
approved for vertical, straight soffit installa-
tion.
14.1 Installation instructions
• Observe the installation instructions in
chapter Installation of the parapet wall for RV 2
VH [} 30]. Installation only permitted by qual-
ified personnel in accordance with chapter
Specialist installer qualifications [} 22].
• Observe the vertical installation position. Align
the mounting sleeve precisely with a spirit level.
• Place the mounting sleeve in the soffit. Remove
the overlying brick. Adjust masonry if neces-
sary.
• Take the alignment to the window into account.
• Take the load transfer into account, see plan-
ning documents and chapter Note the following
when selecting the installation location [} 27].
• To transfer the load to the mounting sleeve, lay
the bricks above in a half offset.
• Installation in combination with roller shutters is
very tight. Make sure the mounting sleeve is ex-
actly flush on the outside.
• If the mounting sleeve is not positioned per-
fectly on the outside, but too far in, there may
be problems with the roller shutter guide rail.
• If there is a gap between the roller shutter guide
rail and the mounting sleeve, fill it with acrylic.
Use pre-compressed sealing strip to ensure
driving rain tightness in accordance with the
current state of the art and the recognised rules
of technology.
14.2 Soffit installation
1. Proceed as described in chapter Vertical,
straight soffit installation RV 2 VV [} 32].
2. Observe the following installation illustrations.
Die 90° mounting sleeve may be mounted
as flush as possible with the outside of the ma-
sonry!
