ted drip edge

3 Intended use

The RV 2 external covers are intended for exte-
rior wall mounting in combination with an RV 2
pre-installation kit:
• RV 2 AH, RV 2 AHB for RV 2 pre-installation kit
RV 2 VH (horizontal)
• RV 2 AV, RV 2 AVB for RV 2 pre-installation kit
RV 2 VV (vertical)
• RV 2 AL, RV 2 ALB for RV 2 pre-installation
kits RV 2 VLR and RV 2 VLL (soffit)
Condensate accumulating in the RV 2 ventilation
unit is channelled directly into the RV 2 external
cover and drained via the drip rail.
The RV 2 ventilation unit is intended exclusively
for domestic use or applications similar to dome-
stic use. Any other or additional use shall be dee-
med improper.

5 Installation instructions
NOTICE Before installing the RV 2 external
cover, check that the RV 2 mounting sleeve is
installed correctly, see the RV 2 pre-installati-
on kit instructions. If the mounting sleeve is
installed incorrectly or is dirty, any condensa-
te that forms cannot drain away correctly and
this can lead to moisture and building dama-
ge.
• Only fit the RV 2 external cover after the exter-
nal plastering has been completed.
• It is essential to install the supplied drip rail to
prevent damage to the building and moisture.
• Only mount the external cover on flat surfaces
and without any warping.
• Position of the external cover can be slightly
equalised (slotted holes).
Recommendation: To prevent dirt from deposi-
ting on the façade around the external cover, fit a
water-repellent plaster system.
6 Installation
6.1 Safety
DANGER Ladders, scaffolding, step aids:
Danger of falling when working at heights
(ladder, scaffolding, step aids). Serious inju-
ries/death in the event of a fall.
When working at heights, use suitable ladders,
climbing aids, step aids or scaffolding. Ensure
their stability. For scaffolding, comply with the
Construction Work Ordinance BauAV and other
national laws. Protect work areas against unaut-
horised access, falls and falling objects. Observe
accident prevention requirements.
