During cross-cut and mitre saw operation, make sure that
the upper area of the saw blade is completely enclosed.
During table saw operation, make sure that the saw arm
is À rmly in operational position.
Make sure that when tilting in table saw mode, the saw
arm is À rmly placed.
When using in table saw mode, be sure to use a suitable
protection system. Hole milling is prohibited.
When working with wood, use a suction device. Always
be aware of factors that can lead to dust formation, such
as:
–
The type of material to be processed (À bre board
panels produce more dust than wood);
–
Correct adjustment of the saw blade;
–
Make sure that the suction device, as well as the
hoods, apertures and grooves are correctly aligned.
–
Suction device with fan output of at least 20 m/s.
Do not use any grinding wheels or diamond blades.
Do not remove any scraps or other parts of the work
piece from the cutting area while the machine is running
and the saw head is not in the rest position.
In the event of an accident or machine failure, immedi-
ately turn the machine o and disconnect machine from
the power source.
Report the failure and mark the machine in a suitable
manner to prevent other people from using the defective
machine.
When the saw blade is blocked due to abnormal feed
force during cutting, turn the machine o and disconnect
it from power supply. Remove the work piece and ensure
that the saw blade runs freely. Turn the machine on and
start new cutting operation with reduced feed force.
Never saw light metals, especially magnesium.
Whenever the situation allows, mount the machine to
a bench using bolts with a diameter of 8 mm and 80 mm
in length (À g. C2).
Additional safety rules for cross-cut
and mitre saws
Make sure all locking knobs and clamping levers are
tight before starting any operation.
Operate the device only if the protection equipment is
in place, works properly and is in perfect condition.
Never use your saw without the table insert.
Never place either hand in the blade area when the saw
is connected to the electrical power source.
Never attempt to stop a moving machine rapidly by
pressing a tool or other object against the blade, since
this can cause serious injury.
Before using accessories, look at their operating instruc-
tions. Improper use of an accessory can cause damage.
Choose the right saw blade for each material.
Observe the maximum RPM shown on the saw blade.
Use a holder or wear gloves when handling a saw blade.
Make sure that the saw blade is mounted correctly before
use.
Make sure the saw blade is turning in the right direction.
Make sure that the saw blade is sharp.
Never use blades of a smaller or larger diameter than
recommended. Check the technical data to À nd out
which blade is right. Use only the blades speciÀ ed in
this manual, complying with EN 847-1.
Consider using specially designed noise-reduction
blades.
Do not use HSS blades.
Do not use cracked or damaged saw blades.
Do not use any grinding wheels.
Raise the blade from the slot in the work piece prior to
releasing the switch.
Ensure that the saw arm is securely À xed before perform-
ing bevel cuts.
Never block the fan to stop the drive shaft.
The blade guard on your saw is automatically pulled
up when the saw arm is lowered. It swivels back when
the saw returns to the starting position. The saw blade
cover can be pulled up by hand, if the saw blades are to
be installed or replaced and the saw is to be inspected.
Never pull the saw blade cover up by hand if the saw is
not turned o .
Keep the area around the machine orderly and free of
loose material, such as shavings or scraps.
Check periodically that the motor air slots are clean and
free of chips.
Replace the table insert if it is worn.
Disconnect the machine from the power source before
carrying out any maintenance work or when changing
the blade.
Never perform cleaning or maintenance work if the
device is still running and the saw head is not in rest
position.
Whenever possible, always mount the device on a work-
bench.
If you use a laser to indicate the cutting line, make sure
that the laser is of class 2 according to EN 60825-
1:2001. Never replace the laser diode with another
type. If it is damaged, have the laser repaired by an
authorized service facility.
