11. Do not abuse the cord. Never yank the cord
to disconnect it from the socket. Keep the cord
away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Never carry the
tool by its cord.
12. Secure the work piece. Where possible use clamps
or a vice to hold the work. It is safer than using your hand
and it frees both hands to operate the tool.
13. Keep a À rm footing. Keep proper footing and bal-
ance at all times.
14. Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp
and clean for better and safer performance. Follow
instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
Inspect tools regularly, and if they are damaged, have
them repaired by an authorized service facility. Keep
handles and switches dry, clean and free of oil and
grease.
15. Pull the plug. When not in use, before servicing and
when changing accessories such as blades, bits and
cutters, disconnect tools from the power supply.
16. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches. Form the
habit of checking to see that adjusting keys and wrenches
are removed from the tool before operating it.
17. Prevent unintentional starting. Never carry the
tool with a À nger on the switch. Before plugging the tool
in, make sure that the tool is in the OFF position.
18. Use the extension cord for working outdoors.
Before use, the extension cord must be inspected. If there
is damage, it must be replaced. When the tool is used
outdoors, use only extension cords that are intended for
outdoor use and are marked accordingly.
19. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing. Use common
sense. Do not operate the tool when you are tired or
under the inÁ uence of drugs or alcohol.
20. Check the tool for damage. Before use, carefully
check the tool and power cable to determine that it will
operate properly and perform its intended function.
Check to see whether all moving parts are correctly
installed and do not bind, and whether parts are broken.
Also check all attachments and all other conditions that
may a ect operation. Safety equipment or other dam-
aged parts must be properly repaired or replaced by an
authorized service facility, unless the operating manual
says otherwise. Have damaged switches replaced by
an authorized service facility. Do not use the tool if the
switch cannot be turned on or o . Never attempt repairs
on your own.

21. Have your tool repaired by a qualiÀ ed per-
son. This electric tool complies relevant safety rules.
Repairs should be carried out only by qualiÀ ed persons
using original replacement parts. Non-compliance can
result in signiÀ cant hazards to the user.
Additional safety rules for cross-cut
and mitre saws
‰ Untrained people must not use this device.
‰ Use the device only for sawing aluminium, wood or
similar materials.
‰ Choose the right saw blade for each material.
‰ Do not use cracked or damaged saw blades.
‰ Do not use HSS blades.
‰ Use correctly sharpened saw blades. Observe the
maximum RPM shown on the saw blade.
‰ Use only manufacturer-recommended saw blades that
comply with EN 847-1.
‰ Never use the saw without correctly installed and
properly maintained safety covers and a splinter and
kickback guard when changing from mitre saw mode
to table saw mode or back.
‰ Check to see that the area around the machine is level,
clean and free of loose material, such as shavings or
scraps.
‰ Provide adequate general or localized lighting.
‰ If necessary, wear suitable personal protection gear,
including:
Ear protectors to prevent the risk of hearing damage;
A breathing protector to prevent inhalation of haz-
ardous dust;
Gloves for handling saw blades and rough materi-
als. Whenever practically feasible, transport saw
blades in a case.
‰ Do not remove the cut-o pieces and other parts of the
work piece from the saw area as long as the saw is run-
ning and the saw head is not in rest position.
‰ Replace the table insert if it is worn.
‰ Replace the table when the slot in the table is too wide.
‰ Immediately report defects in the device, the safety cov-
ers or the saw blade when they are found.
