8.1. GETTING STARTED
BEFORE STARTING
Always position yourself with hands and feet away from moving parts of the equipment.
Start, store and power the lawnmower in a horizontal position. Start the machine on a hard surface or on
a section of grass that has already been cut.
Check the oil level in the engine bay.
Connect the plug to the spark plug
The engines equipping these machines can be equipped with:
- Priming pump
- Manual shock
- Thermal shock
STARTING: For engines equipped with a priming pump
Starting by actuation (starter): Prime the carburetor by actuating the priming pump located on the air filter
cover (3-4 actuations). Pull the emergency stop handle with your left hand and stick it to the guide handle.
Grasp the starter handle with your right hand and pull gently until you feel resistance. Then pull steadily to
start the engine. After the engine has started, let it reach maximum speed, after which you can start
working.
STARTING: For engines equipped with thermal shock
Pull the emergency stop handle with your left hand and stick it to the guide handle. Grasp the starter handle
with your right hand and pull gently until you feel resistance. Pull steadily to start the engine. After the
engine has started, let it reach maximum speed, after which you can start working.
STARTING: For engines equipped with manual shock
Push start (starter): Pull the emergency stop handle with your left hand and
stick it to the guide handle and position the choke lever in the closed position
and operate the throttle lever to full (if equipped). Grasp the starter handle with
your right hand and pull gently until you feel resistance, then steadily to start
the engine, then move the choke lever to the open (operating) position. After
the engine has started, let it reach maximum speed, after which you can use
it for work.
AUTOMATIC START (with the key): If the machine is also equipped with automatic start, the start will be
done by operating the key following the starting steps depending on the engine equipment.
8.2. STOPPING
Release the safety brake (engine-stop) control lever.
Note: Shutdown (for machines equipped with an accelerator lever, the stop will be made after reducing
the engine speed to minimum, after which you release the control handle of the engine-stop safety brake).
8.3. OPERATION
Caution: Keep your hands and feet away from the active area of the cutting knife.
