5.Place a suitable gasoline container below the sediment cup, and use
a funnel to avoid spilling fuel.
6.Remove the sediment cup (see page 36), and then turn the fuel valve
lever to the ON position.
7.Allow the gasoline to drain completely, and then install the sediment
cup (see page 36).

8.Change the engine oil (refer to page 34).
9.Remove the spark plug, and pour about a tablespoon of clean engine
oil into the cylinder. Turn the engine several revolutions slowly with
the recoil starter to distribute the oil, then reinstall the spark plug.
10. Slowly pull the starter grip until resistance is felt. At this point, the
piston is coming up on its compression stroke and both the intake
and exhaust valves are closed. Storing the engine in this position
will help to protect it from internal corrosion.
11. Disconnect the battery negative (–) terminal (see page 41). Cover
the battery cable negative terminal with vinyl tape.
Once a month, recharge the battery (see page 42).
12.Store the generator in clean area.
