3.FUEL SEDIMENT CUP SERVICE
Gasoline is extremely flammable and is explosive under certain
conditions. Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks in the area.
The sediment cup prevents dirt or water that may be in the fuel tank
from entering the carburetor. If the engine has not been run for a long
time, the sediment cup should be cleaned.
1.Turn the engine switch to the OFF
position and remove the key.
2.Turn the fuel valve lever to the OFF
position. Remove the
sediment cup and O-ring.
3.Clean the sediment cup in nonflammable or high flash point solvent.
4.Reinstall the new O-ring and sediment cup.
5.Turn the fuel valve lever to the ON position and check for leaks.
After installing the sediment cup, be sure to tighten it securely. Check
for fuel leaks and make sure the area is dry before starting the engine.
