Expanding the KVM matrix system by cascading
Connecting a follower central module
How to connect a follower central module to a leader device:
1. Configure the same number of dynamic ports as up ports as console mondules or
DWC channels that you want to allow to simultaneously access the follower
central module.
2. Now connect the configured
leader device.
3. Connect the computer modules or other follower central modules to the follower
central module (up to 2 cascade levels).
4. Check and, if necessary, change the cascade mode of the leader and/or the
follower central module.

The premium function
the Matrix-Grid to connect either console modules, DWCs, computer modules or
grid lines (see below). While a cascade increases only the number of connectable
computer modules, the matrix grid allows the universal expansion of existing KVM
installations.
Additionally, the function removes the limitations of the top-down structure within
cascades and enables bidirectional communication between console modules,
DWCs and computer modules connected to different matrix switches. This allows
you to combine several digital matrix switches to one large network of matrix
switches. Console modules, DWCs and computer modules can be connected to any
matrix switch included in the Matrix-Grid.
All console modules and DWCs can access any computer module (independently of
the matrix switch to which they are connected).
The system takes over the (bidirectional) routing of KVM signals and chooses the
ideal signal path between modules.
