Expanding the KVM matrix system by
cascading
If the number of ports of a matrix switch is not sufficient for the desired purpose,
you can combine multiple matrix switches.
The different device variants of the ControlCenter-Compact series provide up to 176
dynamic ports for the connection of console modules, DWCs and computer modules.
NOTE:
The number of ports depends on ControlCenter-Compact variant.
Cascading (default)
To establish a cascade, connect a follower matrix switch to the leader matrix switch.
Connect either several computer modules or further follower matrix switches (max.
two cascade levels) to the follower matrix switch.
Due to the top-down structure of the cascade, console modules can access only
computer modules connected to the same matrix switch as the console module or
the DWC or to a matrix switch that is subordinate in the tree structure (cascaded)
Configuration and highlighting of port assignment
By default, the matrix switch auto-detects the modules connected to the ports and
configures the ports accordingly.
NOTE:
When connecting a console module, DWC or a computer module, the
ports are auto-configured. In case of a cascade, note or change the port mode.
