11.1.
CONNECTING AN HCT TORQUE WRENCH (ONLY 654410)

NOTICE! When connecting to an HCT torque wrench, no settings may be

configured on it before or after connecting.
Without activated HCT mode

ü Bluetooth is activated on the HCT torque wrench and the torque tester.
Bluetooth symbol flashes on both devices.
ü Torque tester is showing the start screen.
1. Press right function button (5), enter password if necessary and confirm with OK
(8).

2. Select "Connections" and confirm with OK (8).
3. Select "SEARCH FOR HCT devices" and confirm with OK (8).

List of available devices is shown.
4. Select desired HCT torque wrench and confirm with OK (8).

Set the measurement unit for torque
measurement. This unit will act as the de-
fault unit when a test case is created.
Value in percent before the lower target

Reset to factory settings. All data and settings will

11.2.
TESTING THE TORQUE WRENCH (ONLY 654410)
WARNING
Torque wrench not fully inserted.
Lacerations and impacts due to slipping of the torque wrench, resulting in uncon-
trolled high-energy movements of all components.

Ensure the square socket drive/hexagon of the drive interface is clean.

Fully insert the external square drive/hexagon drive of the torque wrench into
the drive interface of the torque tester.
1. Connect the torque wrench to the drive interface of the torque tester up to the
stop.
11.2.1.
Measuring torques in general

ü "Track" mode is selected.
1. Move the torque wrench slowly and evenly.
2. Read off the measurement values on the display of the torque tester.
3. To start a new measurement, press the Send button (6) or move the torque
wrench in the desired rotation direction again.
11.2.2.
Measuring torques on HCT torque wrenches
C
ü "Track HCT" mode is selected.
1. Connect torque wrench to the torque tester, see Connecting an HCT torque
wrench (only 654410) [} Page 16].
2. Move the torque wrench slowly and evenly.
3. Read off the measurement values of the torque wrench and torque tester on the
display of the torque tester.
4. To start a new measurement, press the Send button (6) on the torque tester or
torque wrench, or move the torque wrench in the desired rotation direction
again.
11.2.3.
Testing triggering and displaying torque wrenches
ü "1st Peak", "Peak Hold" or "Peak Hold HCT" mode is selected.
1. Configure the following settings and confirm with OK (8):
TARGET VALUE - YES/NO
Should the measurement be performed with or
without a target value.
UNITS
Define the desired unit of measure for the torque.
TARGET VALUE
Define the value of the target torque.
TARGET TOL. MIN
Lower tolerance limit for target value.
TARGET TOL. MAX
Upper tolerance limit for target value.
DIRECTION OF ROTATION
Specify test direction.
TOL. TORQUE WRENCH
Determine the tolerance range between the peak value
of the HCT torque wrench and peak value of the torque
tester. (Only with HCT modes for the 654410)
SAVE AS TEST CASE
If the test procedure is to be saved as a test case, save
the test case and name it.

1. Set the desired test value on the torque wrench.
2. Configure settings on the torque tester, see Testing triggering and displaying
torque wrenches [} Page 16], or create or activate a test case, see Managing test
cases [} Page 15].
3. Move the torque wrench slowly and evenly in the desired direction of rotation
until it triggers.
4. Read off the measurement value on the torque tester.
5. To start a new measurement, press the Send button (6) or move the torque
wrench in the desired rotation direction again.
