Cleaning, maintenance and
repair
WARNING
■ The cutting blade may start unintentionally if
the activation key and battery are left in place
during cleaning, maintenance or repair opera‐
tions. This may result in serious injury to peo‐
ple and damage to property.
► Remove the batteries.
■ If the activation key and battery are not
removed during cleaning, maintenance or
repair operations, self-propulsion may be
switched on unintentionally and cause the
lawn mower to move forward. This may result
in serious injury to people and damage to
property.
► Remove the batteries.
■ Abrasive cleaning agents, using a jet of water
or sharp items for cleaning may result in dam‐
age to the lawn mower, blade and battery. If
the lawn mower, blade and battery are not
properly cleaned, parts may not function cor‐
rectly and safety devices can be disabled.
People may suffer serious injuries as a result.
► Clean the lawn mower, blade and battery
as described in this User Manual.
■ If the lawn mower, blade or battery are not
properly serviced or repaired, parts may not
function correctly and safety devices can be
disabled. Persons may be seriously injured or
killed.
► Do not attempt to service or repair the lawn
mower or the battery yourself.
► If the lawn mower or the battery requires
servicing or repairs: contact a STIHL
authorized dealer.
► Service the blade as described in this User

The following steps must be performed before
commencing work:
► Remove packaging material and transport
locks.
► Make sure that the following components are
in safe condition:
– Lawn mower,
– Blade,

► Clean the lawn mower,
► Check the blade,
► Fold up the handlebar,
► Set the cutting height,
► Check the controls,
► If the steps cannot be performed: do not use
