Troubleshooting
This section describes actions that the user may take to address issues when the
system appears to not operate properly.
•
When using the system intraoperatively, avoid excessive troubleshooting during the case
which may extend surgical time. For example, it may be reasonable to confirm that the
hardware is connected properly, restart the application, and reboot the AIM System if
functionality has not been restored. Use medical judgment to determine when to abandon
attempting to make measurements and proceed with the case without the AIM System.
•
To avoid the tablet from freezing and/or rebooting, consider the following suggestions:
o
Avoid installing hardware (i.e. USB devices) that require custom drivers
o
Only use the AIM System for the purpose of running AIM OM Software
•
When the AIM System is turned on nothing appears on the screen. Make sure that:
o
The AC Adapter is connected to the AIM System and the power cord is plugged into a
working electrical outlet.
o
The AIM System power is on (check power LED indicator for confirmation).
•
The loss of function may last up to 5 minutes if a reboot occurs.
•
Sound processor does not appear in the hardware chain. Confirm or perform the following:
o
AIM Programming Cable is properly connected to the AIM System.
o
Naída CI Q90 is properly connected to the AIM Programming Cable.
o
Close and relaunch the OM Suite application.
o
Close the OM Suite application, restart the AIM System, and relaunch the OM Suite
application.
•
Implant does not appear in the hardware chain. Confirm or perform the following:
o
Headpiece is centered over the implant antenna and within 7 mm of the implant
antenna.
o
Headpiece is connected to the Headpiece Cable properly.
o
Headpiece Cable is properly connected to the Naída CI Q90.
o
AIM Programming Cable is properly connected to the AIM System.
