5. Reinsert the rotor into the housing.
CAUTION: The rotor may be destroyed during start-up if it is not inserted correctly.
a. Insert the rotor (3) into the housing (4) in such a way that the tubing connections on the rear of the rotor fit
into the corresponding recesses inside the housing and 1 of the 3 holes of the rotor is visible from below in
the inspection window (5) of the housing (4).
NOTICE: The rotor's sealing surface is located approx. 4 mm deep inside the housing when the rotor is
inserted correctly. If this is not the case, then the rotor needs to be moved into the correct position from
below by means of a pointed object.
6. Clean the connecting piece.
a. Clean the sealing surface of the connecting piece (2) with ethanol using a lint-free cloth.
7. Insert the connecting piece.
a. Insert the connecting piece (2) into the housing (4) in such a way that connector 1 is on top and the 3 pins
of the connecting piece fit into the corresponding recesses on the housing.
b. Reattach the coupling nut (1) and tighten it by hand (do not use a tool).
8. Connect and condition the MSM.
a. Reconnect all capillaries of the MSM to the IC system.
b. Before stepping the MSM for the first time, rinse the 3 suppressor units with solution for 5 minutes.
Replacing parts
Parts of the MSM may need to be replaced in the following cases:
Irremediable loss of suppressor capacity (reduced phosphate sensitivity and/or significant rise in the baseline).
Irremediable blockage of the MSM (solutions can no longer be pumped through the MSM).
Both the rotor and the connecting piece can be replaced.
Procedure
1. Disconnect the MSM from the IC system.
a. In the software, stop the hardware and wait until the pressure in the high-pressure pump has been released.
b. Disconnect all capillaries of the MSM from the IC system.
2. Remove the MSM.
a. Unscrew the coupling nut (1) from the housing (4).
b. Pull the connecting piece (2) out of the housing together with the rotor (3).
NOTICE: If the rotor gets stuck in the housing, you can push it out as follows:
Insert a pointed object into the inspection window (5) in the housing (4) and use it to push out the rotor.
c. Loosen the connecting piece from the rotor.
3. Clean the new rotor.
a. Clean the sealing surface of the rotor (3) with ethanol using a lint-free cloth.
4. Insert the rotor into the housing.
CAUTION: The rotor may be destroyed during start-up if it is not inserted correctly.
