2. Regenerate all 3 suppressor units, one after the other, for approx. 30 minutes using 1 of the solutions men-
tioned above.
a. Dose with a flow rate of 0.5 mL/min in the software.
b. In the software, use the Step command to switch to the next suppressor unit.
3. After regeneration, each of the 3 suppressor units must be rinsed with degassed ultrapure water for about 30
minutes.
a. Replace the regeneration solution with ultrapure water.
b. Dose with a flow rate of 0.5 mL/min in the software.
c. In the software, use the Step command to switch to the next suppressor unit.
4. Replace the ultrapure water with regeneration solution for continuous operation.

In the following cases, it may be necessary to clean the MSM:
Increased backpressure at the MSM's connection tubing.
■
Irremediable blockage of the MSM (solutions can no longer be pumped through the MSM).
■
Irremediable jamming of the MSM (MSM can no longer be switched over).
■
Procedure
1. Disconnect the MSM from the IC system.
a. In the software, stop the hardware and wait until the pressure in the high-pressure pump has been released.
b. Disconnect all capillaries of the MSM from the IC system.
2. Remove the MSM.
a. Unscrew the coupling nut (1) from the housing (4).
b. Pull the connecting piece (2) out of the housing together with the rotor (3).
NOTICE: If the rotor gets stuck in the housing, you can push it out as follows:
Insert a pointed object into the inspection window (5) in the housing (4) and use it to push out the rotor.
c. Loosen the connecting piece from the rotor.
3. Rinse the capillaries.
a. Connect each of the 6 PTFE capillaries connected to the connecting piece (2) in sequential order to the out-
let of the high-pressure pump using a coupling (6.2744.040) and pump ultrapure water through them.
b. Check whether water comes out at the connecting piece.
If one of the capillaries remains blocked, then the connecting piece (2) needs to be replaced (order number
6.2835.010 or 6.2832.010).
4. Clean the rotor.
a. Clean the sealing surface of the rotor (3) with ethanol using a lint-free cloth.
