Cleaning and/or disinfection
The ophthalmoscope may be cleaned externally with a moist cloth.
In addition, the following disinfectants may be used for disinfection:
Aldehyde (formaldehyde, glutaraldeyhde, aldehyde derivatives), or
surfactants. All instrument components with the exception of the lens
wheel may be disinfected with alcohol. When using these substances,
the manufacturer's instructions must be strictly complied with. Means
for cleaning or disinfection may be a soft, possibly lint-free cloth or Q-
tips.
The following apertures and/or filters may be
selected by the aperture and filter wheel:

To increase contrast for assessment of
changes in fine vessels, i.e. retinal
haemorrhages
Remove instrument head from battery hand-
le.
The lamp is in the bottom section of the
instrument head. Remove lamp, by using
your thumb and forefinger or a suitable tool,
from the instrument head. Insert new lamp
with the pin on the lamp fitted in the recess
provided on the head of the case.
