Elective Replacement
When the non-rechargeable IPG battery nears depletion, the IPG enters Elective Replacement mode. The Elective Replacement
Indicator (ERI) message appears on the Remote Control. Contact your healthcare provider to report the ERI message screen.
The IPG provides stimulation during this ERI period. Failure to replace the IPG may lead to:
•
Reduced programming ability
•
Limited communication with the IPG
•
End of stimulation
Changes made to the stimulation during this ERI period will not be saved, and stimulation will end soon. Batteries that last
12 months or more without entering ERI mode have at least 4 weeks between entering ERI mode and reaching End of Battery
Life. The IPG must be replaced to resume stimulation. Surgery is needed to replace the implanted non-rechargeable IPG. Leads
may stay in place while the IPG is exchanged.
End of Service (End of Battery Life)
When the non-rechargeable IPG battery fully depletes, the End of Service (EOS) indicator message appears on the Remote
Control. Stimulation is not available. To continue receiving stimulation, the implanted non-rechargeable IPG must be replaced via
surgery.
