Term Explanation
Ethernet An Ethernet is a data network (LAN technology)
Topology Bus topology (topology) refers to the structure for the intercon-
nection of multiple devices via bus. The topology is decisive for
safeguarding the network against failure, for performance and
for the selection of suitable hardware.
Termination Every Hi-O Technology™ system must be terminated with at least
one terminating resistor.
Remote If the connecting conductor is longer than 10 m, it is a remote
interface interface (interface with extended connection lead).
Branch A branch connection line is a branch from a main line.

Star In a star distribution, the lines emerge from a distibutor.
