17 Before Initial Start-up
17.1 Starting up the Mobile Handheld Computer
Before starting up the Mobile Handheld Computer for the first time, please make sure that the rechargeable
battery installed in the Mobile Handheld Computer at the factory is fully charged. Connect the docking station
(if included in scope of delivery) to the mains supply with the included power supply and place the Mobile
Handheld Computer in the docking station.
The rechargeable battery is fully charged when the charge LED lights up green.
Now you can start up the Mobile Handheld Computer.
For further information about the Mobile Handheld Computer and the docking station, see the following
chapters.
17.2 Starting up the Docking Station
Place the docking station in a level, stable, clean place that is not in the sun. Plug the power cable into the
external power supply. Plug the DC plug of the power supply into the DC outlet on the back or the left side of
the docking station (marked with the DC symbol
The docking station is disconnected from the power supply by pulling

the power plug.
The associated outlet must be near the docking station and easily

18 Handling of Mobile Handheld Computer and Docking Station
18.1 Mobile Handheld Computer
18.1.1 Switching on
To switch the Mobile Handheld Computer on, use the following button:
"On/Off" button
The Status LED lights up green as soon as the Mobile Handheld Computer is switched on. The home screen
of the operating system or the normal working environment appears on the display.
18.1.2 Switching off
To switch the Mobile Handheld Computer off, use the following button:
"On/Off" button (hold for three seconds).
Then a dialog with the options "Power off, Restart and Screenshot" appears on the right side of the display.
To switch off the device the button "Power off" must be confirmed. If you want to cancel this dialog, click on a
free area on the display next to it. This will cause the dialog to close.
The Status LED goes out as soon as the Mobile Handheld Computer is switched off.
18.1.3 Idle mode
To switch the Mobile Handheld Computer into idle mode, use the following button:
"On/Off" button (hold for two seconds).
In idle mode, (system) processes minimize their power consumption in order to save energy. The display is
also switched off. Therefore, the Mobile Handheld Computer requires only a little power and the
rechargeable battery time can be extended.
