4.1
Removing and mounting the standard attachment or adapters
NOTICE
For safety reasons, the Vortex Mixer must be switched off when changing the standard attachment
or adapters. If the adapter for 1.5/2.0 ml tubes or the adapter for microplates is attached while the
Vortex Mixer is on, you will hear a beep to alert you. The Vortex Mixer will stop if an attempt to remove
an adapter is made during operation.
To mount the standard attachment, pull it over the base plate. Always ensure the attachment is on
properly and sitting over the base plate on all sides before use. To remove the standard attachment
pull it off the base plate.
To mount the adapter for 1.5/2.0 ml tubes or the adapter for microplates, ensure you have the adapter
in the correct orientation, with the two notches at the back and the lever to the right. Position the left
side against the base plate first and then snap into position using pressure on the right hand side. To
remove the adapters, lift off via the release tab on the right hand side of the adapters.

Always ensure that the adapter is properly attached to the base plate before inserting the tubes or
microplates. If the adapters are not installed correctly and become loose during operation, the Vortex
Mixer will stop and start beeping. After loading the adapters, the Vortex Mixer can be started.
4.2
Switching on the Vortex Mixer
Switch on the Vortex Mixer with the power switch at the back of the Vortex Mixer.
The touch screen will turn on automatically.
