About this user manual
Before using the Vortex Mixer for the first time, please read this user manual.
This user manual is part of the Vortex Mixer and it should be easily accessible at all times.
If the Vortex Mixer is transferred to a third party, this user manual must be included.
1.2
Intended use
The Vortex Mixer is intended for indoor laboratory use. Any other use is considered as improper.
The Vortex Mixer is commonly used for mixing small tubes.
Do not open the housing or modify the Vortex Mixer or accessories in any way.
Only use the accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
1.3
Electric current
Do not use the Vortex Mixer if it is damaged in any way. If the Vortex Mixer, the power adapter or
the power cable is damaged, there is a risk of fatal electric shock. Do not use the Vortex Mixer in
this case.
In an emergency, immediately switch off the Vortex Mixer or disconnect the power cable at the
back of the Vortex Mixer.
Disconnect the Vortex Mixer from the power supply to clean it, or if it remains unused for a long
time. Do not immerse the Vortex Mixer in water or other liquids or let the power cable come into
contact with water or other liquids.
1.4
Moving parts: standard attachment and adapters
Do not touch the standard attachment or the adapters while they are still moving. Wait until the
standard attachment or the adapters have completely stopped before removing the standard
attachment or the adapters. Do not reach under the base plate.
1.5
Vortex Mixer tubes and microplates
Only use tubes and microplates that are compatible with the Vortex Mixer.
Do not use open tubes. Do not use damaged or deformed tubes or microplates.
1.6
Loading the adapter for 1.5/2.0 ml tubes
Load the adapter for 1.5/2.0 ml up to a maximum of 15 tubes with 3.0 g each. If not fully loaded,
ensure the tubes are distributed evenly across the adapter.
Fill and seal all tube lids carefully before inserting the tubes in the adapter.
Do not mix flammable, explosive or corrosive materials.
