Maintenance and software update
Before using any cleaning or decontamination methods except those recommended, contact the
manufacturer to make sure that the proposed method will not damage the equipment. For further
information and detailed instructions for cleaning and disinfection, contact your local distributor.
5.1
Cleaning
Regularly check and clean the housing of the Vortex Mixer as well as the accessories and the
touch screen.
WARNING
Electric shock as a result of penetration of liquid.
› Switch off the Vortex Mixer and disconnect it from the power supply before cleaning.
› Do not allow any liquids to enter the inside of the housing.
› Do not use disinfectant spray.
› Only reconnect the Vortex Mixer to the power supply once it is completely dry.
NOTICE
Aggressive chemicals can damage the Vortex Mixer and its accessories.
› Do not use any aggressive chemicals on the Vortex Mixer and its accessories such as
strong or weak bases, strong acids, acetone, acetonitrile, chloroform, dichloromethane,
diethyl ether, EDTA (pH 8), DMSO >50 %, ethyl acetate, Ficoll, hydrogen peroxide,
phenol, toluene and methanol.
› If the Vortex Mixer or the accessories become contaminated with aggressive chemicals,
clean immediately with a neutral cleaning agent.
› Do not use corrosive cleaning agents, aggressive solvents or abrasive polishes.
Auxiliary aids
› Lint-free cloth.
› Mild, soap-based cleaning solution.
› Distilled water.
Cleaning the Vortex Mixer
› Switch off the Vortex Mixer and disconnect it from the power supply.
› Clean all surfaces of the Vortex Mixer and its accessories with a mild, soap-based
cleaning solution, using a lint-free cloth.
› Wipe off the soap solution with distilled water.
› Dry all cleaned parts.
